碳排放权交易是我国利用市场化手段减少二氧化碳排放的重要机制,但现有研究没有探讨碳市场对企业绿色转型的影响。本文利用我国从2013年开始的碳市场试点这项准自然实验,通过多期双重差分法研究我国碳市场试点促进企业绿色转型的作用效果和机理。结果显示:碳市场试点显著促进了企业绿色转型;碳排放权交易的市场机制在两者之间没有发挥作用,但企业凭借成本转嫁能力化解绿色转型成本以塑造竞争优势;碳市场为企业关系管理提供了契机,但与管理政企关系相比,企业更倾向于借助碳排放权交易促进绿色转型进行社企关系管理;碳市场试点对企业绿色转型的促进作用没有显著的行业和地区溢出效应,也不受企业所有制、区域发展水平以及是否为碳市场重点关注的高耗能行业的影响。本文不仅深化了对我国碳市场作用效果和微观作用机理的认识,还为如何完善全国碳市场建设提供了参考建议。 |

China’s Carbon Market Pilot and Enterprise Green Transition: An Analysis of Effects and Mechanism |

Carbon emission trading is an important mechanism for China to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by using market-oriented means, but the existing studies ignore its impact on enterprise green transition. Taking the carbon market pilot started in 2013 as a quasi natural experiment, it examined the effect and mechanism of China’s carbon market pilot on enterprise green transition through multiphase difference-in-differences method. The results are as following. The carbon market pilot significantly promotes enterprise green transition. The market mechanism of the carbon market does not play a role in the relationship between the carbon market pilot and enterprise green transition, while enterprises resolve the cost of green transition to shape competitive advantage depending on cost transfer ability. Carbon market provides an opportunity to manage relationship for enterprises, but compared with the management of government-enterprise relationship, enterprises prefer to use carbon emission trading to achieve green transition for social-enterprise relationship. The carbon market pilot has no significant industrial and regional spillover effect on the promotion of enterprise green transformation, and is not affected by enterprise ownership, regional development level, and whether it is a heavy energy consuming industry focused by the carbon market. It not only deepens the understanding of the effect and micro-mechanism of China’s carbon market, but also provides suggestions for the construction of the national carbon market. |
