Abstract: |
From the perspective of resource dependence theory and inter-organizational imitation, it explored the influence of the interlock directors’ experience on enterprise innovation and examined the moderating effect of organizational slack as the internal resource stock on the relationship between the interlock directors’ experience and enterprise innovation. It shows that interlock directors’ experience significantly promotes enterprise innovation; organizational slack positively moderates the promotion effect of interlock directors’ experience on enterprise innovation. Further research finds that there is a significant substitution relationship between regional innovation ability and interlock directors’ experience under the same other conditions, which indicates that the lower the innovation ability of the region where the enterprise is located, the stronger the promotion effect of the interlock director’s experience on enterprise innovation. For the listed companies located in the areas with low innovation ability, choosing directors with strong interlock directors’ experience can make up for the fact that they are far away from the industrial cluster area information disadvantage. It enriches the relevant literature on the influencing factors of enterprise innovation and the economic consequences of interlock directors' experience, and extends the influence of interlock directors' experience from the enterprise micro level to the regional macro level. It provides new empirical evidence for improving the structure and selection mechanism of innovative talents in listed companies, thus it possesses significant practical importance as well. |
