    数字化转型已成为企业发展的必然选择,高管作为核心决策者,在企业转型中的作用至关重要。基于高阶梯队理论和增长期权理论,以2007—2023年沪深A股制造业企业为研究样本,探讨高管数字化背景与短视主义对企业数字化转型的影响,并深入研究了企业风险感知和地区投机文化对这一关系的调节作用。研究发现,高管数字化背景能显著推动企业数字化转型,而高管短视主义对企业数字化转型呈现倒U形影响;当企业对风险感知较高或所处地区投机文化较强时,高管数字化背景的推动作用更强,而高管短视主义与数字化转型的倒U形关系相对减弱。异质性分析表明,对于非国有企业和高竞争程度的制造业企业,高管的数字化背景显著促进企业数字化转型;对于国有企业和高竞争程度的制造业企业,高管短视主义与数字化转型的倒U形关系显著。本文从高管能力与认知偏好相结合的视角,拓展了企业数字化转型微观前因的理论解释,表明高管特征对数字化转型并非单一线性作用,而是具有显著的情境依赖性。研究结论为企业在不同不确定性环境下有针对性地培育数字化高管、优化高管团队结构以及完善数字化人才培养与配置机制提供了实践启示。

    Abstract:

    Digital transformation has become an inevitable choice for firm development, and top executives, as core decision-makers, play a crucial role in this process. Based on the upper echelon theory and real option theory, it used Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed manufacturing firms from 2007 to 2023 to examine the effects of executives’ digital background and managerial myopia on enterprise digital transformation, as well as the moderating roles of firms’ risk perception and regional speculative culture. The results show that executives’ digital background significantly promotes digital transformation, whereas managerial myopia exerts an inverted U-shaped effect on enterprise digital transformation. When enterprises perceive higher risks or are located in regions with a stronger speculative culture, the positive effect of executives’ digital background becomes stronger, while the inverted U-shaped relationship between myopia and digital transformation becomes weaker. Heterogeneity analysis shows that for non-state-owned enterprises and highly competitive manufacturing enterprises, executives’ digital backgrounds significantly promote enterprise digital transformation; for state-owned enterprises and highly competitive manufacturing enterprises, there is a significant inverted U-shaped relationship between executive myopia and digital transformation. By integrating executive capability and cognitive preference, it extends the theoretical explanation of the micro-level antecedents of enterprise digital transformation and shows that the effects of executive characteristics are not simply linear, but significantly context-dependent. The findings also provide practical implications for cultivating digitally capable executives, optimizing executive team structure, and improving mechanisms for digital talent development and allocation under different uncertainty conditions.
