    数字中国建设与创新模式自主化转变为中小企业带来了机遇与挑战,探究数字化转型与创新模式如何协同提升中小企业创新绩效意义重大。基于4A架构和复杂系统观,采用动态fsQCA方法,利用51家“小巨人”企业6年的面板数据,探讨数字化与创新模式不同细分维度对中小企业创新绩效的联动效应。研究发现:在数字技术、应用、财物、人才、环境及自主研发、技术引进中,单因素均为非必要条件,数字财物必要性随时间上升;提升创新绩效的4条路径为“数字优势驱动创新高效”“数字机遇支撑自主研发”“全要素转型协同技术引进”和“数字硬件管理内外知识”。对高绩效4条路径的进一步分析表明:效果随时间分别看跌、看跌、平稳、看涨,解释案例从企业生命周期看分别集中于衰退期、成熟期、成长和成熟期、成熟期,从所属新兴产业看分别集中于节能环保、新一代信息技术、新能源汽车和新一代信息技术、新能源汽车产业。只强调自主研发或重引进、轻转化均会降低创新绩效。本文拓展了中小企业创新路径研究,为不同资源禀赋的中小企业针对性制订数字化与创新战略提供了启示。

    Abstract:

    The digital China construction and the autonomous transformation of innovation models have brought both opportunities and challenges to SMEs. Investigating how digital transformation and innovation models synergistically enhance SMEs’ innovation performance holds significant importance. Based on the 4A framework and a complex systems perspective, it adopted a dynamic fsQCA approach, and used six-year panel data from 51 SRDI enterprises to explore the interplay among various dimensions of digital transformation and innovation models. It finds that: in digital technology, application, property, talent, environment, independent R&D, and technology introduction, single factor is not a necessary condition, and the necessity of digital property increases with time. Four distinct pathways enhance innovation performance: innovation efficiency driven by digital advantages, independent R&D supported by digital opportunities, collaborative technology introduction through total-factor transformation, and internal and external knowledge management via digital hardware. Further analysis on the four high-innovation performance pathways show that their effects over time are respectively declining, declining, stable, and increasing. The illustrative cases of the four high performance pathways are concentrated in enterprises at different life-cycle stages: decline period, maturity period, growth period and maturity period, and maturity period; and across various strategic emerging industries: energy conservation and environmental protection, new generation of information technology, new energy vehicles and new generation of information technology, new energy vehicle industry. Both only emphasizing independent R&D and valuing technology introduction while neglecting integration reduce innovation performance. It extends the research on SME innovation pathways, offering insights for SMEs with varying resource endowments to develop targeted digital and innovation strategies.
