Digital resilience has become a key factor to drive digital transformation and high-quality development for firms in an uncertain environment. However， how artificial intelligence adoption influences digital resilience remains unclear. Based on the resource-based theory and transformational leadership theory， it explored the impact of artificial intelligence adoption on digital resilience， and analyzed the mediating role of proactive boundary-spanning search and the moderating role of digital transformational leadership. The empirical results indicate that： artificial intelligence adoption has an inverted U-shaped effect on both proactive and reactive digital resilience， as well as on proactive boundary-spanning search； proactive boundary-spanning search plays a partial mediating role in the relationships between artificial intelligence adoption and proactive digital resilience， and artificial intelligence adoption and reactive digital resilience； digital transformational leadership moderates and flattens the inverted U-shaped effects of artificial intelligence adoption on proactive and reactive digital resilience， respectively. The research findings not only uncover the internal mechanism of artificial intelligence adoption on digital resilience through proactive boundary-spanning search， but also provides theoretical and practical guidance for firms to cultivate and develop digital resilience.
